ALMA LOUISE BOYD

Alma Louise Boyd, age 91, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005 in the emergency room of Keokuk Area Hospital.

She was born May 25, 1914 at Keosauqua, IA, a daughter of Calvin Glen and Minnie Belle Cochenour McVeigh.

She married Raymond F. Boyd on February 28, 1931 in Kahoka. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1986.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Boyd and his wife, Vivian, of Keokuk, IA, Carl Boyd and his wife, Donna, of Wheatland, MO, and Carroll Boyd of Kahoka, MO; four daughters: Leona Elder of Kahoka, MO and her fiancé, Raymond House of Revere, MO, Dorothy Johnson and her husband, Waylen, of Kirksville, MO, Helen Dempsey of Keokuk, IA, and Alma Finton and her husband, Jerry, of Warsaw, IL; a sister, Rosalie Hobb of Hamilton, IL; two sisters-in-law,Hazel Boyd of Milton, IA and Pearl McVeigh of Kahoka, MO; 32 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; as well as other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Freida Lucille Boyd and Lois Jeanette Boyd; one grandson; two granddaughters; one step grandson; two great grandsons; two sisters, Gladys Greenslaugh and Velma Rhodes; three brothers, Robert, Leslie, and Lewis McVeigh; and two sons-in-law, Kenneth Elder and Bill Woods.

Louise was a homemaker and lived on the family farm since 1938 in Chambersburg, MO.

She was a member of the Chambersburg Methodist Church and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching television and reading. She loved having her family for Sunday meals and loved to cook and make pies for them.

Funeral services are Friday, July 1, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial in Anson Cemetery.

Friends can call after 9 a.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
