ALVIN MURPHY, JR.

Alvin Murphy, Jr., age 58, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2005 in

Keokuk Area Hospital.

He was born January 9, 1947 in Kirksville, MO, the only child of Alvin and Ella Forquer Murphy.

On October 27, 1967, he was united in marriage to Janet Gilfillan in Kahoka.

Survivors include his wife, Janet, of Kahoka, MO; one son, Scott Murphy and his wife, Maria, of Kahoka, MO; one daughter, Angela Buschling and her husband, Jeff, of Canton, MO; his mother-in-law, Loreta Gilfillan of Arbela, MO; a sister-in-law, Barbara Farley and her husband, Joe, of Downing, MO; five grandchildren: Koby and Hunter Murphy and Renae, Rachel, and Grace Buschling; three step grandchildren: Devon, Katarina, and Darren Lillard; as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Junior graduated from Wyaconda High School and worked for the former Kahoka Cheese factory for 19 years. He had loved to fish when his health permitted. He enjoyed watching television, particularly Nascar races and cooking shows. His granchildren were very special to him and he cherished the time spent with them.

Funeral services are Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with cremation following and burial at a later date in Bear Creek Cemetery near Fairmont.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 p.m until time of services at the funeral home.
