Kahoka

Anthony "Tony" Bergman , 52, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois with his family by his side. He was born September 16, 1971 in Keokuk, Iowa, the only son of Dennis and Sharon Bergman.

Tony graduated from Clark County High School in Kahoka, MO in 1989. He was a Journeyman Bricklayer for 10 years around the tri-state area then worked several different positions at Roquette America in Keokuk, IA for 15 years where he was proudly a member of the Local 48G Union.

Tony was above all else, a goofball. To know him was to love him. Tony made sure to check in on his family regularly, no matter if they were down the street or across the country.

Tony loved all things related to Harley-Davidson; he was a motorcycle enthusiast who not only enjoyed the open road but took great pride in his Harley t-shirt collection. His passion for life was as colorful as his Hot Wheels collection and as creative as his artwork. His love for the outdoors led him to rock hunting expeditions with his fiancée Lonnette, and his playful spirit shone brightest when he was gaming with his granddaughters and his buddy Bubba.

Tony was a connoisseur of cinematic gems and TV classics, he was known to quote from his favorite scenes and passed his love for cinema onto his youngest daughter Sidney, often taking her on double-feature dates at the movie theater during her childhood. He passed his stubborn nature and love for history to his eldest daughter Molly, who loved discussing genealogy with her dad.

He carried forward the cherished tradition of Sunday dinner, a legacy from his mother, ensuring that love and togetherness were never far from his table. His generosity knew no bounds, always ready to lend a helping hand or an ear to listen, embodying a spirit of forgiveness and kindness His memory will live on through his children and loved ones who will find comfort in the stories they tell.

Tony is survived by father Dennis (Zarina) Bergman of Kahoka, MO., 2 daughters: Molly (Zach) Brewer of Kahoka, MO., Sidney Bergman of Davis CA., 2 grandchildren: Layla and Violet Brewer of Kahoka, MO., sister: Kristi Droege of Kahoka, MO; 2 step sisters: Shana (Darren) Marshall of St Patrick, Mo., Melissa (Travis) Riney of Revere, Mo., nieces Brook Dawson (Zach) of Keokuk, IA and Paige Droege of Hamilton, IL and a grandniece and several grandnephews; fiancée Lonnetta Sutterfield of Wayland, MO and other relatives and friends.
