Barbara Jean (Clark) Harrison, 96, of Revere, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 11:20pm, Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Barb was born on January 5, 1926, in Elvaston, Illinois to William and Elizabeth (Sprague) Clark. She married Paul Harrison on October 12, 1947, in Kahoka, Missouri. She received her BA degree in 1970 and went on to earn her master’s degree in 1980. She was the recipient of the WGEM TV Golden Apple Award in 1996 Barb taught mostly in Revere C-3 and the Learning Center in Keokuk, Iowa. While teaching was Barb’s profession, she considered her true calling to be that of a farmer’s wife and steward of the land, and often expressed that was how she wanted to be remembered. She was a master gardener who spent countless hours tending to her garden and flowers. Some of the simple pleasures in life that she enjoyed were reading, knitting, sewing, singing hymns, and picking blackberries with her best friend, Dorothy White. Barb had a kind and thoughtful nature and if she knew someone special was coming to visit, she would make their favorite meal and was known for her delicious pies. She will be dearly missed by her family and her friends.
She is survived by her sons, Steve (Jackie) Harrison from the Village of Loch Lloyd, Missouri, and Phil Harrison of Quincy, Illinois; daughters Sharon Harrison of Villa Ridge, Missouri, and Deb Harrison (John Pennock), of Revere, Missouri, and Cindy Johnson, (Randy Stockbarger) of Ozark, Missouri; grandchildren Tony Harrison, Jyl Ourada, Kelsey Markley, Kristin Harrison; great-grandchildren, Karly McDonnell, Remington Harrison, Sophia Markley, Alexis, and Addison Ourada; great-great-grandchildren Paisley and Harrison McDonnell; and brother Robert Clark, of Indialantic, Florida, and Sister-in-law Gerrie Harrison
Barb was predeceased by her parents; husband Paul; son Chris Harrison; brother Phil Clark; sisters Rosie Aden, and Betty Alice Garba grandchildren Stephanie Harrison, and Bradley Harrison; and daughters-in-law Pam and Vicky Harrison, and sisters-in-law, Barbara Clark, Phyllis Clark, and brothers-in-law Elmer Aden, and Ed Harrison
There will be a visitation from 12:30 until 2:00pm. Funeral services for Barb will be held at Peaksville Christian Church at 2:00pm, on Friday, June 24, 2022, with a procession to Kahoka Cemetery to immediately follow the service. Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating.
