Barbara Kirchner, 70, of Kahoka, passed away suddenly at 3:17 pm on Friday, February 16, 2024, in Kahoka. Barbara was born in Winchester, Virginia on December 31, 1953. Barbara was a hardworking, caring person who often put the needs of others before her own. Barbara held many jobs before her disability and was known for delivering newspapers in and around Keokuk and as a waitress for the Ma and Pa restaurant. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her adoptive parents; Harrison DeHaven and Alma Dellinger; brother, Bucky DeHaven; and sister Linda Sue Brinklow.
She is survived by her daughter Heidi (Randy) Akers, of Rhoadesville, VA; son James “Jed” (Danell) Snyder, of Kahoka, MO; Grandchildren, Rebecca and Roxanne Akers of Rhoadesville, VA, Santana Chaffee, of Horsehead, NY, Zachary Snyder, of Fredericksburg, VA, Lily, Worley, Layla, and Daisy Snyder of Keokuk, IA; a great-grandson Ezekiel “Zeke” Comstock, of Horsehead, NY; siblings Paul Dellinger of Winchester, VA, Robert Dellinger of Fredericksburg, VA, Darlene Hedges, Debra Jimenez, and Pamela Parker, all of Martinsburg, WV; and many other family and good friends including Richard Burlimgames and William Brynteson and her beloved cat “Midnight”
There will be no services by request.
