BARON TERANCE "TERRY" CRONE
Baron Terance "Terry" Crone, age 75, of rural Alexandria, MO, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Terry was born July 8, 1938, in Liverpool, England, a son of Joseph Baron and Mabel Orritt Crone.
He married Margaret Johnson and they were parents of Terry and Lorna. They immigrated from England to Missouri in 1967 with their two young children and brother Barry and his wife Mary and their children, Barry and Paula, to join their sister, Barbara Nixon, and mother, Mabel Bowen. He later married Janice Hunziker Buford who preceded him in death on July 19, 2013.
Survivors include his son, Terry (Sheila) Crone of Leavenworth, KS; one daughter, Lorna Jester of Wichita, KS; one step-daughter, Penny (Mrs. Bob) LeMaster of Kahoka, MO; six grandchildren: Tyler (Christina) Ramsey of Kahoka, MO, Samantha Crone and fiancé, Jeffrey Campsey of Leavenworth, KS, Danielle Crone of Leavenworth, KS, Trisha Jester, Macie Jester and MaKenzie Jester, all of Wichita, KS; three step-grandchildren: Clint Walker (Rachel Little) and Calina (Mrs. Kevin) Vollbracht, all of Quincy, IL and Landon (Jayna) LeMaster of Kahoka, MO; four great-grandchildren, Kolton Ramsey, Jackson Peterson, Noah Campsey and Aiden Weaver; one step-great grandchild, Drake Sturm; two step-sisters, Jane Gordon of Canada and Pat Brimelow of Liverpool England; three sisters-in-law, Mertice Meinhardt, Marydot Hunziker, and Marjorie (Mrs George) Harris of Quincy, IL; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Baron Crone and Mabel Orritt Crone Bowen; wife, Janice; brother, Baron; and sister, Barbara Nixon.
Terry was an experienced tool and die maker and was employed at Sheller Globe until his retirement. He enjoyed working in his machine shop at home and could fabricate whatever someone needed.
He was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church and enjoyed his fellowship there. He loved to sail and relished the friendships he made through his membership in the Fort Madison Yacht Club. He looked forward to their Wednesday and Saturday races. Terry was a true outdoorsman. Besides sailing, he loved to hunt and fish and work in his garden. He also loved to cook and play with his cats. Despite his illness, he cared for his wife, Janice, until her death in the past month.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Memorials were suggested to the Wayland United Methodist Church or the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.
