BETTY N. FRY

Betty Nadine Fry, age 89, of Kahoka, MO, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa, IA.

Betty was born April 30, 1929 in Agency, IA, a daughter of Bertram C. and Agnes N. Lynch Byers.

She graduated from Kahoka High School and on July 13, 1946, was united in marriage to Billy A. Fry in Kahoka.

Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Kahoka. She was a bookkeeper at the Kahoka Cheese Company for many years and later worked at Denham Accounting.

Betty enjoyed reading, preparing “the best” homecooked meals, growing and caring for flowers and most of all cherished time with her family. Everyone who knew and loved her will remember her wonderful sense of humor.

Bill was the love of her life for 71 years. They enjoyed watching NBA games, working in their yard and playing the penny machines at LaGrange.

Survivors include her husband, Billy, residing in Oskaloosa, IA; a son, Ronnie J. Fry of Lake Mary, FL; a daughter, Jana J. (Kraig) Van Hulzen of Oskaloosa, IA; four grandchildren: Melissa (Ryan) McDermott of Peoria, AZ, Mindy (Kevin) Weber of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kamron and Kourtney Van Hulzen, both of Oskaloosa, IA; four great-grandchildren: Nicolette and Patrick McDermott and Tatum and Devon Weber all of Arizona; a brother, Jack Byers of Quincy, IL, a sister-in-law Doris Fry of Des Moines, IA; and an aunt, Phyllis Allman of Eldon, IA; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Bertram C. Byers; her mother, Agnes N. Bell and her step-father Clint Bell; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vernie and Lola Fry, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Brenton and Lois Fry, Cecil Fry, Kenneth and Josephine Fry, Dorothy and Raymond Fountain, Oneta and Ed Dray, Roy and Verna Fry and Eva Sue Byers.

At her request, Betty has been cremated. There will be no services at this time, however, graveside services will be at a later date in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the H.E. Sever Memorial Library or Serenity Hospice House of Oskaloosa, IA.

The family was served by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.
