C. J. DEAN
C. J. Dean, age 66, of Kahoka, MO, died Saturday, November 20, 2004 in University Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
He was born September 6, 1938 in Spickard, MO, a son of Claude G. and Nora Ollie Turner Dean.
On July 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Pitford in Kahoka.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo, of Kahoka; mother-in-law, Alice Pitford of Kahoka;
four sons, Stanley Dean and his wife, Jeanie, of Donnellson, Steve Dean of Kahoka, Darrel Dean of Luray, and Corey Dean and his wife, Sonja, of Kahoka; ten grandchildren: Sarah Pezley and Emily, Garrett, Brittney, Terra, Summer, Winter, Tosha, Dustin and Cameron Dean; one great grandchild, Elizabeth Pezley; one brother, Edward Dale Dean and his wife, Darlene, of Luray; four sisters, Margaret Sederburg and her husband, Miles of Mt. Sterling, Margie Sederburg and her husband, Marvin of Luray, Catherine Huston and her husband, John, of Kahoka, and Pauline Cordray of Luray; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Vivian and Dillon Kleine of Kahoka, Delores and Kenny Justice of Revere, and Norman and Carol Pitford and Virginia and Bob Allen, all of Kahoka; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Marion Pitford; one brother,
Aaron Dean, Sr; sister-in-law, Joan Pitford; two nephews, Donnie and Edward Jr. Dean; and a great nephew, Adam Sederburg.
C.J. was a member of the Kahoka Seventh Day Adventist Church. He had been in the construction business for the past 36 years and was owner of Dean's Construction and Building Products in Kahoka. He also farmed and raised cattle south of Kahoka and was very involved in the cattle industry. He was a member of the Clark Co. and the Missouri Cattlement's Association, and the American and Missouri Simmental Association. He was also a board member of Clark Mutual Insurance. He supported the youth with Junior activities in both 4-H and FFA and supported the livestock sale at the Clark Co. Fair. He dearly loved his grandchildren and his cattle.
Funeral services are Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Dan Doughtaling officiating. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends can call after 9 a.m. on Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Steeple Fund at the Kahoka Seventh Day Adventist Church or the Clark CO. Food Pantry.
