CALLADONA "DONIE" ST. CLAIR
Calladona "Donie" St. Clair, age 98, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away Thursday,
September 15, 2005 at the Scotland Co. Care Center in Memphis.
She was born September 19, 1906 on the family farm located east of Wyaconda,
MO, the only child of Carlton A. and Lucy Bane Cull. Her mother died when she was only three weeks old and she was lovingly raised by her father and stepmother, Gracie Horn Cull.
On August 15, 1926 she was united in marriage to Samuel S. St. Clair at LaGrange, MO.
When he passed away on April 11, 1998, they had been married for over 71 years.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel Keith St. Clair and his wife, Dian, of Nelson, MO and Lynn St. Clair and his wife, Tina, of Wyaconda, MO; grandchildren and step grandchildren:
Nathan St. Clair of Bolivar, MO, Lindsey St. Clair of Nelson, MO, Neil Shelton of Nelson, MO, Sandra and Hank Kleine of Kahoka, MO, Tim and Rhonda St. Clair of Kahoka, MO, Jennifer and Gary LaFrenz of Wyaconda, MO, Krista and Stuart Walker of Kahoka, MO, Shawn Wilson of Palmyra, MO, Michelle and Ricky Parker of Ft. Madison, IA, Jennifer Wilson of Ottumwa, IA, and Danny Miller of Wyaconda, MO; 15 great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother; her husband; and, an infant son.
Calladona graduated from Wyaconda High School and attended college at Cameron, MO.
Prior to her marriage she taught at Boston School and Mt. Hope, both in rural Clark Co. near
Wyaconda. Following her marriage, she was a homemaker and farm wife. She gave piano lessons to local residents for many years. She also raised dogs and chickens, put in three large gardens and cared for her orchard. She loved to bake and was one of the finest in the area.
Calladona was a devoted member of the New Woodville Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and played piano for many years. She was also a former Clerk of the Pleasant Grove Association. She loved her Lord and her family. She never found fault with anyone, but only looked for the good that could be found in them.
Funeral services are Sunday, September 18, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the New Woodville Baptist Church with Pastor Ralph St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in New Woodville Cemetery.
Friends can call after noon on Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Scotland Co. Care Center or the New Woodville Cemetery.
