Carl F. Kutcher, Jr.
Carl F. "Kutch" Kutcher, Jr., age 73, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2006 at his daughter's home in Crawfordsville, IA, following a three year battle with cancer.
He was born May 23, 1933 at Antioch, MO, a son of Carl F. and Myrtle L. Hamner Kutcher.
He married Mary Lou Kilkenny and they were the parents of Jeanine and Lee Anne. He later married Joyce Holt and they were the parents of Lori and Cory.
Survivors include his father, Carl F.Kutcher, of Quincy, IL; one son, Cory Kutcher of Erie, PA; three daughters, Jeanine Roberts and her husband, Gary, of Crawfordsville, IA, Lee Anne Lear of Crawfordsville, IA, and Lori Helkey and her husband, Rob, of Louisiana, MO; nine grandchildren: Erin Smith, David Whiteaker, Jr., Dustin Roberts, Russell Kutcher, Andrew Lear, Brett Bolton, Brendan Bolton, Katie Bolton, and Ethan Helkey; four great-grandchidren: Kelton Smith, Donavon Smith, Austin Brand, and Jalen Kutcher; as well as nieces, nephews,
cousins, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle; his wife, Joyce; and, his brother, Donald.
Carl attended rural schools in Clark County, graduating from Kahoka High School and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He had ran a heating and plumbing business on the square in Kahoka in the 1960's and then worked at the former Lazy R Country Club operated by Jim and Janet Ragan north of Kahoka. He also farmed for Ralph Ball and worked for the Clark Co. R-1 School District for many years.
"Kutch" or "Junior" as he was known to his family and friends, was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. He had coached softball in earlier years and played on the fast pitch league. He loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He also enjoyed having coffee and visiting with friends and spent many hours at the Ayerco. He was a great dad and grandpa who will be dearly loved and missed by his family.
Memorial services will be held Monday, October 23, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Local Cancer Fund.
