Carol Peer-Simpson, 69, of Kahoka, passed away at 6:36 am on Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home. Carol was born on April 27, 1954, in Davenport, Iowa to Rex and Marge Peer (Misner).
Carol spent most of her working life in the service and manufacturing sector. Many of her contract jobs were spent working as a cleaner for schools and residences. Carol was the proud mom of her two boys, John and Jacoby. Before her health issues began to limit her mobility, Carol loved to go fishing with them and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She, at one time, loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, classic Rock & Roll and Rhythm & Blues, and traveling between the quad cities.
Carol was married to Rex Teel, and they enjoyed their short time together until his untimely passing in 2010 at the age of 59.
Carol’s life, at one time, was relatively wild and carefree. Carol enjoyed everything that she had experienced in the moment. So much of Carol’s past life influenced her desire to give back to people and the A.A. community who supported her during difficult times. In addition to her two sons, and six grandchildren, Carol was most proud of her sobriety and 15-year sobriety token and her hard work with various AA groups.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Helen Brennan.
She is survived by her sons, John Lee Chantry (Kylie) Simpson, of Revere, Missouri, and Jacoby Daniel Gutting-Simpson, of Wyaconda, Missouri; grandchildren Ryleigh, Rory, Rowen, Mason, Maddix, and Madilyn; brother George Peer, of West Palm Beach, Florida, and sister Larita Slusser of Davenport, Iowa.
There will be a private family cremation service held for Carol as she joins her husband, Rex, to continue on their next journey together. The Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka has been entrusted with the care and arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
