Cheryl D. Dorrell
Cheryl D. Dorrell, age 51, of Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly Friday, December 23, 2005 in the emergency room of Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon, MO.
She was born May 28, 1954 at Marceline, MO, a daughter of Howard Jr. and Darlene Atwell Rosson.
On June 14, 1975, she was united in marriage to Ralph L. Dorrell at Brookfield, MO.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph, of Kahoka, MO; a son, Ryan Dorrell of Warrensburg, MO; her mother, Darlene Rosson of Marceline, MO; three sisters, Lela Dean and her husband, Charles, of Gladstone, MO, Melody Carver and her husband, John, of Marceline, MO, and Georgia Rosson of Marceline, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerry Dorrell of Liberty, MO, Linda Hays of Battleground, WA,Larry and Janet Dorrell of Lees Summit, MO, and Robert and Patsy Dorrell of Marceline, MO; several aunts and uncles, including Mae Winters of Kansas City, MO, Mary Ingerson, Peggy and Joe Burns, Mike and Debbie Atwell, and Howard Atwell, all of Marceline, MO; special friends, Angie and Roy Gilbert of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Cheryl graduated from Marceline High School in 1972. They had lived in Kahoka since June of 1992 when Ralph was transferred to this area with the railroad. Cheryl was an employee of Blimpie's in Kahoka and worked with Victim Services at the Clark Co. Sheriff's Department. She also spent many hours as a volunteer for C.A.R.E. She had been employed at the former Daniel Chevrolet.
Cheryl was an excellent cook and was well known for her baking and homemade candy. She was also a collector, particularly of Christmas decorations. She was devoted to her family and friends and always put others ahead of herself. She was a giving person and it was important to her to do what she could to make things better for others.
Funeral services are Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial in Kahoka Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Compton.
Friends can call after 10 a.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice.
