CHRISTOPHER MORGAN JONES

Christopher Morgan Jones, age 26, of Emporia, KS, formerly of Kahoka, MO, died in a train accident in Emporia on Tuesday, July 5, 2005.

He was born October 12, 1978 at Marcelline, MO, one of three sons of Randell and Marian Russell Jones.

Survivors include his parents, Randell and Marian Jones of Nauvoo, IL; two brothers,

Todd Jones and his fiancé, Carrissa Law, both of Canton, MO, and Adam Jones of Alexandria, MO; grandmother, Phyllis L. Jones of Kirksville, MO. He also leaves behind a girlfriend, Amanda Sprowso of Emporia, KS; several aunts and uncles: Barbara and Chuck Anderson of Bucklin, MO, Jim and Brenda Russell of St. Louis, MO, Diana and Steve Coult of St. Joseph, MO, Rick Jones of Spotsvania, VA, and, Richard Jones and Roger Jones, both of Bevier, MO; as well as numerous great aunts and uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Morgan Jones, Alfred Eugene and Esther N. Russell; and, great grandparents Jessey and Georgia Payne.

Chris graduated from Clark County R-1 High School in Kahoka, MO with the class of 1997, where he was a member of the basketball team and also active in the summer baseball league. He graduated from Culver-Stockton College at Canton, MO with a BA in business and a minor in finance. While at Culver-Stockton, he was a member of the Wildcat baseball team and twice went to the NAIA Baseball World Series. He continued his education, receiving his Masters Degree in business from Webster University in St. Louis.

Chris was employed by his uncle at Computer Renaissance in St. Louis as technician and salesman and also bookkeeper and accountant for the business while obtaining his master's degree. He had been employed by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad since January of 2005.

Chris was an avid sports fan. He loved all sports activities, particularly fishing, baseball and basketball.

Graveside services are Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 1 p.m. at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Marcelline, MO with Rev. Randy McGehee officiating. Burial will follow.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka Friday after 9 a.m. with family receiving friends 6-9 p.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.
