CLARISSA DAWN CHILDRESS-SOMERS

Clarissa Dawn Childress Somers, age 22, of Kahoka, MO, died Monday, May 7, 2018 in Blessing Hospital Quincy, IL following a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, May 1.

Clarissa was born October 16, 1995 in Memphis, MO, the only child of Jay and Cynthia McMann Childress.

She married James Somers on November 5, 2016.

Survivors include her daughter, Emberson Dawn Somers of Kahoka; parents, Jay and Cynthia Childress of Camdenton, MO; grandparents, Minnie Childress of Edina, and Billie and Clara McMann of Kahoka; aunts and uncles: Arnold McMann of West Point, IA, Janie and Roy Rankin, Dale and Pam McMann and Gary McMann, all of Kahoka and Agnes McMann of West Point, IA; as well as great aunts and uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jerry Childress, and aunt and uncle, Kelly and Jerry Childress.

Clarissa was an honor graduate with the Knox Co. Class of 2014.

She was currently a CNA at "The Madison" in Fort Madison for the past two years and previously worked at the Knox Co. Nursing Home. She attended the Trinity Worship Center in Kahoka.

Clarissa was a happy-go-lucky girl who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a good mother and her daughter, "Emmy," was her pride and joy.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Kim McNamar officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Jay and Cynthia Childress for Emberson’s education fund.
