Curtis Allen Streit, 53, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Scotland County Hospital, in Memphis, Mo.
He was born October 3, 1970, at Moline, IL, a son of Lewis and Arlene (DeRoo) Streit.
On August 7, 1999, he married Tisha (Morse) Streit in Kahoka, Mo. They had just recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Curtis graduated from Moline, Il., High School. He worked for Justice and Dean as a carpenter. Curtis was an Avid Sportsman. He couldn’t wait for the season to open for deer, turkey and dove hunting. When summertime came Curtis would be fishing for hours in the pond or river making memories to share with his family of his big catch. He was in several archery tournaments and did very well. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, he loved to cook on the grill for family gatherings, gardening, and golfing. His greatest love was his grandchildren who he loved to give them candy and lots of hugs. Curtis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be with us, the legacy of his kindness and outdoor adventures will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched.
Curtis is survived by his wife; Tisha Streit, his father; Lewis (Joy) Streit of Colona, Il., his mother-in-law; Marsha (Roberts) Hooper of Wyaconda, Mo., 2 sons; Cody (Kayla) Streit of Kahoka, Mo., Alex O’Day of Kahoka, Mo., 3 daughters; Morgan (Ethan) Horton of Kahoka, Mo., Tyanne (Ethan) Overhulser of Kahoka, Mo., Kaylee (Daniel) Birky of Wyaconda, Mo., 2 brothers; Scott (Debbie) Streit of Il., Mark (Maria) Willett of Il., 2 sisters; Angie (Danny) Nordyke of Il., Trudy (Ivan) McNeff of Il., 12 grandchildren; Garrick, Chesslinn, MaKennah, Savannah, Breelynn, Jackson, Veada, Carter, KenLeigh, Stetson, Mason, Oliver, Special Friend; Charlie Marshall and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Arlene, Grandparents; Emma and Gerade DeRoo, Bessie and Lewis Streit, and a cousin Stewart Ward.
Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, Mo. Pastor Matt Wallain will officiate.
