Dalene E. Hoffstatter Bergman, age 91, of Quincy, IL, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Sunset Home in Quincy.
Dalene was born February 25, 1929 in Keokuk, IA, a daughter of Harry W. and Myrtle Eaton Miller.
She was previously married to Leon Brammer and Rudy Hoffstatter.
Survivors include her children: Duane (Janet) Brammer of Hannibal, MO, John (Sandra) Brammer of Keokuk, IA, Doug (Mary Kay) Hawley of Cedar Park, TX and Bob (Brenda) Hoffstatter of Branson, MO; one step-daughter, Twila Ciancurrillo of California; eleven grandchildren: Brian (Sara) Brammer of FL, Scott Brammer of IA, Amy Mead of IA, Mark (Beth Ann) Hawley of TX, Jeff (Ann) Hawley of TX, Tamara Hoffstatter of New Mexico, Tim (Heather) Hoffstatter of KS, Brent (Taran) Hoffstatter of New York, Brandi (Chris) Ely of MO, and Steven and Robert Ciancurrillo, both of CA; twenty-two great grandchildren: Ashley, Brittany, McKinzie and Lauren Brammer, Kelsey and Kaleb Leffler, Conner, Savannah, Lakelyn, Landry, Shade, Madison, Lauren, Luke, and Hudson Hawley, Payson, Presly, Breydon, Treyvon, and Brynlee Hoffstatter; and Bentley and Cyrus Ely; as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudy Hoffstatter; a granddaughter, Meg Brammer; step-son, Steven Hoffstatter; and twelve siblings.
Dalene spent the majority of her childhood in and near Wayland and completed her education at Wayland High School. She was a Baptist by faith and as a child attended Wayland Baptist and as an adult Kahoka and Memphis Baptist Churches.
She spent many years as a waitress and worked at various places including Baker’s Rexall, Keokuk Country Club, Keokuk Holiday Inn and Morgan Oil.
She loved to sing, yodel and dance. She was a member of the former Circle B Square Dance Club at Keokuk. She enjoyed, camping, traveling, and visiting. She had a special place in her heart for stray animals.
Due to the COVID19 restrictions in place for all funeral homes in Missouri and other states, there were no services or visitation. A private burial was held on Wednesday in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers were suggested to the Keokuk Humane Society or the Senior and Family Resource Center in Quincy.
