DANNY EUGENE EGBERT

Danny Eugene Egbert, age 70, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born March 11, 1943 in Fort Madison, IA, the son of Theodore Eugene and Geneva Pennington Egbert.

Danny graduated from Wyaconda C-1 High School in 1961. On June 24, 1962, he was married to Karen Sue Dochterman in Arbela, MO. To this union of 51 years was born a son, Scott Eugene, and daughter, Tracy Lynn.

Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Wyaconda; one daughter, Tracy Lynn Kaylor and her husband, Glen, of LaGrange, MO; two grandchildren, Kyle Douglas and Emily Danielle Kaylor both of LaGrange, MO; a brother-in-law, John Jr. Dochterman and his wife, Glenda, of Keokuk, IA; one niece, Becky Dochterman of Lexington, MO; mother-in-law, Edith Dochterman of Kahoka, MO; as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Egbert; grandparents; one nephew, Lonny Dochterman; and father-in-law, John Dochterman.

Danny was a farmer and had been employed 44 years at Keokuk Steel Castings. He and Karen also were owners of West Side Café for almost 21 years. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America District # 11, Local #3311, a member of the Wyaconda United Methodist Church and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose # 1432 of Kahoka, MO.

Danny loved staying over at his cabin and being with Kyle and Emily. He also loved his son-in-law's cooking.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Jim Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemetery.

Memorials were suggested to the Wyaconda Cemetery.
