David French

David J French, 69, of Revere, MO., passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. 

He was born September 4, 1955, in Moline, Illinois. The son of Robert J. French and Ardis L. (Post) French. He graduated from Finneytown High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then furthered his education with an Academic and football scholarship from Purdue University. On March 30, 1985, he was united in marriage to Angie L. (Gilbert) French at the Kahoka Christian Church and she survives.

David loved his football. He was a huge fan of the Purdue and KC Chiefs football teams. Anybody that knew David knew he was a history buff, from Bonnie and Clyde to the history of his community area of Revere, Farmington that he grew up in. David was a farmer at heart and enjoyed tending to his livestock. Most importantly he looked forward to getting together with family and friends. 

 David is survived by his wife Angie, his sons: Jeff (Susan) VanMeter of Arlington, TX., Erick (Amanda) VanMeter of Fort Smith, AR., his brothers: Robert French of CA., Douglas French of SC., a sister: Elizabeth (Charles) Bild of SC., and 2 precious grandchildren: Haylie VanMeter and Dalen VanMeter other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his in-laws Delbert and Maxine Gilbert.

Visitation with family present will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO. Memorial contributions in memory of David French are suggested to the Local Boy Scouts Pack 145, or Great Plains Mastiff Rescue.
