David E. Parsons, 73, of Wayland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa.
David E. Parsons was born September 21, 1948 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of the late Edward and Alice (Schulte) Parsons. On November 12, 1976, he was united in marriage to Joyce M. Lowery in Clark County, she survives.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, barbequing, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Local 525 Union.
David is survived by his wife Joyce M. Parsons of the home, his son Richard D. (Renae) Parsons of Kahoka, his daughter Barbara (David) Hoenig of Revere, his son David Jr. (Stacie) Parsons of Keokuk, Iowa, and his son Josh (Deana) Parsons of Wayland, ten grandchildren; Gregory (Misty) Irvin of Revere, Shawna (Brandon) Ulmer of Brighton, Colorado, Jesse Boyd of Fairfield, Iowa, Laken Irvin of Revere, Jacob (Kaylee) Parsons of Wayland, Arianna (Damien) Teague of Valley, Alabama, Shannon Hoenig of Kahoka, Cheyann (Austin) Hoenig of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Kara (Jacob) Ball of Kahoka, and Keyton Bass of Kansas City, fifteen great grandchildren; Emily Irvin, Jenifer, Curtis and Austin Surber, John David (JD) Irvin, Myarra Greer, Tova Galbreath, Logan and Mason Ulmer, Teagan Teague, Rhiley and Camden Hora, Michael Keefe, and Chase and Kathryn Dart and two great-great grandchildren Mason O’Day and Oliver Irvin, his sisters Alice Susie Boggs of Revere and Diana (Ron) Gronewold of Quincy, Illinois as well as by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons; Derrick Ball and Jimmie Bass.
A visitation honoring David’s life was held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm with family present between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 pm at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka. Cremation rites were accorded following the visitation. Memorial contributions in memory of David were directed to the family and in care of Barbara Hoenig.
