DEBRA S. LAFFOON PAGEL

Debra Sue Laffoon Pagel, age 50, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Clark County, MO, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at her home.

She was born September 14, 1954 at Keokuk, IA, a daughter of Howard and Deloris Toops Laffoon.

On September 2, 1988, she was united in marriage to Jeff Pagel and they were the parents of a daughter, Lanii Brooke, who was born April 24, 1989.

Survivors include her daughter, Lanii Pagel, of the home; her parents, Howard and Deloris Laffoon of Kahoka, MO; one brother, Wayne Laffoon and his wife, Mary Jo, of Alexandria, MO; two sisters, Mary Ellen Lewis and her husband, Mike, of Kahoka, MO and Teresa Keppel and her husband, Johnnie, of Keokuk, IA; six nieces and nephews: Brian Lewis and his wife, Sara, and Amy Romine and her husband, Tom, all of Kahoka, MO; Chastity Kearns and her husband, Christopher, of Montrose, IA, Mike Laffoon of Luray, MO, and Adam Laffoon and his wife, Dawn, and Benjamin Laffoon and his wife, Ann, all of Jefferson City, MO; nine great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles: Mary Toops of St. Francisville, MO, Fred Estes of Peoria, IL, Lula Laffoon of Kahoka, MO, Gene and Mekey Laffoon of Canton, MO, and Leonard and Betty Laffoon of Milan, IL; one great aunt, Nora Tilley of Flippin, AR; as well as other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas O. and Violet Karnes Toops, and Andrew T. and Violet Hecox Laffoon.

Debra was a 1972 graduate of Clark Co. R-1 High School in Kahoka, MO. She was Sales Director for Lynch Aluminum in Peoria, IL and had worked in sales most of her life in Texas, California and Muscatine, IA. Earlier she had been employed at Shellor Globe in Keokuk. She loved her family and was a devoted mother to her daughter. She enjoyed vacations in Texas, and loved to travel. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and also enjoyed attending hockey games. Debra attended Northwoods Community Church in Peoria, IL and recently had begun volunteering her time to help feed and minister to the needs of the homeless. She enjoyed working in her yard and decorating her home. She also served on various school committees, as well as fund raising projects.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO with Rev. Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial will be in Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville, MO.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 11 a.m. on Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Sand Cemetery.
