Delbert L Harper, 88, of Kahoka, MO., passed away at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO., on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Delbert was born on September 21, 1936, to Clifford L and Louise K (Kirchner) Harper in Kahoka, MO. He married Twila (Cochran) Harper on January 23, 1955, at the Revere Community Church, and she survives.
Delbert was a member of the St Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, and a 1954 graduate from Kahoka High School. Delbert grew up on a farm South of Kahoka. He farmed with his (Red Tractors), raised livestock, liked his meat and potatoes and had a sweet tooth. To relax he enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. Delbert was a farmer at heart pure and simple. Delbert and Twila truly loved their life on the farm, raising their family there, sharing stories and memories to pass on to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Delbert looked forward to family gatherings and loved his family very much.
Delbert is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Twila, sons: Danny (Carolyn) Harper of Eldon, MO., Tim (Melissa) Harper of Kahoka, MO., daughter: Holly (Mark) White of Crown Point, IN., grandchildren: David (Kenzie) Harper, Erin (Rob) Hopp, Danielle (Kirk) Stafford, Grant Harper, Taylor White, great grandchildren: Josey Hopp, Rhett Harper, Rogan Harper, Kasen Stafford, Hayes Hopp, Molly Stafford, sister-in-law: Mary Harper of Kahoka, MO., brother-in-law: Ronald and his wife (Rovene) Cochran of Ft. Madison, IA., nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws: Archie and Bertha Cochran, brothers: Gerald and his wife (Alberta) Harper, Harold Harper, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wilma (Homer) West, Lois (James) Wixom, Bob (Dorthea) Cochran and Norma Jean (Gene) Sartori.
Funeral Services for Delbert Harper will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO. Rev. Dan Moore and Pastor Shawn McAfee will officiate. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Kahoka Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Delbert Harper are suggested to Clark Co Nursing Home, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Clark County Local Cancer Fund.
