Delores Kay (Reitz) Ridgely

Delores Ridgely was "given life" at her birth, 06/29/1939 in rural Kahoka MO. Loving parents were Elmer M. Reitz, now deceased, who taught her how to be honest, work and appreciate what she worked for and Frances Speer Reitz, who taught her to love flowers, birds, enjoy cooking and taking care of the family. Her mother survives her. Delores was devoted to her Lord, family and friends.

Delores Ridgely was "given new life" at her born-again experience in 1952 by accepting Christ as her Savior. She was baptized at First Baptist Church of Kahoka, MO.

She is a 1957 graduate of Kahoka High School, Kahoka MO and ERTI of Omaha NE, as a tele-typist. She attended music and sign language classes at Hannibal-LaGrange College of Hannibal MO and Tennessee Temple Schools of Chattanooga TN. In later years, toll painting and computer classes were taken at Adult Education Classes in Macon MO.

She and her groom, Darryl Ridgely, were united in marriage December 7, 1957 at First Baptist Church of Kahoka, MO. They were married 46 years and had residences in Harlingen TX, Williamstown MO, Hannibal MO, Chattanooga TN, Hutchinson KS, McBride British Colmbia Canada, Kahoka MO, Shelbina Mo, Macon MO and Lake Ozark MO. She was a member of Laurie First Baptist Church and had served as organist, pianist and choir director in many of the churches they had served through the years.

To this marriage was given Judith Ann Ridgely, born and deceased on October 11, 1959.

A son, David N Ridgely and wife Debra, grandchildren: Erin, Megan and Joshua Ridgely and Kaitlin Wood and Matthew Wood of Lake Ozark, MO and Emily Kueker and her husband Doug of Indianapolis IN.

A daughter, Winona K. Smith and husband Art, grandchildren: Adryanna and Ian Smith of Paris TN.

A daughter, Grace E Ruffy and husband Frederic, grandchildren: Emalie and Nicholas Ruffy of Salt Lake City, UT.

A daughter, Deanna S. Winters and husband Kurt, grandchildren: Trevor and Carissa of Spring Hill KS.

Other family members include a sister, Marvis Trump and husband Harold of Luray, MO and their daughter Marla and family.

A sister, Ronda McWilliams and husband Kent of Marion IL, their children Grant, Graydon and Kentyl and families.

A sister-in-law, Louise Ridgely of Williamstown MO and daughters, Marvis, Bobbie and Beth and families.

"Eternal Life" was granted on June 28, 2004. She fought breast, liver and bone cancer for six years and tender angels came to escort her to Heavenly places from Lake Ozark MO.

Preceded in death by nephew, Mark Trump; brother-in-law, Marvin Ridgely; father Elmer Reitz; and daughter Judith Ann Ridgely.

"So shall we ever be with the Lord" I Thessalonians 4:17.

Memorial services are Thursday,July 1, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, Williamstown MO, with Mark Lowman, officiating minister. Interment at Providence Baptist Church of Williamstown MO.

Family will be present Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.

"While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live'... I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."

First Baptist Church of Kahoka, the American Cancer Society, or the Gideons.
