DENNIS J. DUSTIN

Dennis J. Dustin, age 66, of Wayland, MO, died peacefully Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at his home.

Dennis was born December 15, 1944, at Bloomer, WI, the son of Ercel and Pearl Petersen Dustin.

He graduated from high school in Weyerhaeuser, WI and later married Evelyn Garrett on April 14, 1974 in Carthage, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Wayland; two sons, Tim (Anji) Dustin of Wayland and Randy (Danielle) Dustin of Warrensburg, MO; two grandchildren, Kycen and Ambrosia Dustin; a sister, Donna Lovett of Kansas City, KS; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marian and Dale Killpack of Lamoni, IA and Kathryn Garrett of San Francisco, CA; as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles.

Dennis had been a dairy farmer prior to his marriage. After he and Evelyn were married he worked at Roquette in Keokuk and retired from there in 2001 to pursue another business that he and Evelyn owned. This business enabled them to travel three times to Hawaii and twice to Alaska. He loved the outdoors, growing things, mowing, walking in nature, visiting with neighbors, and hunting. He was able to take Kycen on his first hunting experience last fall. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Keokuk and was devoted to serving Christ. He had a servants heart and was concerned about helping others. His family was his pride and joy.

At his request, cremation rites have been accorded. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 1-4 p.m.at the Lodge at Camp Nauvoo, Nauvoo, IL. At 2:30 an informal service will be held. The family requests that you please join them. Snacks will be provided.

Memorials are suggested to Camp Nauvoo.
