DIXIE LEE ANN HELLWEG WILSON

Dixie Lee Ann Hellweg Wilson, age 51, of the Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson, IA, formerly of Farmington, IA and Kahoka, MO, died Monday, May 8, 2006 in the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, IA.

She was born May 7, 1955 at Fort Madison, a daughter of Donald and Jean Rauenbuehler Hellweg.

On May 7, 1977, she was united in marriage to H. Jay Wilson in West Point.

Survivors include her husband, Jay, of Kahoka, MO; her father, Donald Hellweg of West Point, IA; a son, James J. Wilson of Ottumwa, IA; a daughter, Dawn Marie Lehr and her husband, Jeremiah, of Marion, IA; three brothers: Richard Hellweg and his wife, Deb, Larry Hellweg and his wife, Rita, and, Marty Hellweg and his wife, Janet, all of West Point, IA; two sisters, Donna Simmons and her husband, Terry, of West Point, IA, and Lisa Whitmore and her husband, Greg, of Dallas City, IL; also several aunts and uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother; a daughter, Brenda Lee Wilson; and her father-in-law and and mother-in-law, Donald and Jeanne Wilson.

Dixie was a graduate of Marquette High School and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point. She worked at the West Point Care Center until her marriage when she devoted her time to her husband and then her children. Thirteen years ago she suffered a debilitating stroke which required full time care, the past five at the Donnellson Care Center. Prior to that time, she collected recipes and enjoyed trying them out. She also enjoyed gardening and watching John Wayne movies. Her greatest joy came from caring for her children and being with family.

A memorial mass will be held Friday, May 12, 2006 at 5 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, IA with Father Apo T. Mpanda officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Friends can register at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. following services Friday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, IA.

Memorials are suggested to the Donnellson Health Center.
