DONALD L. FOWLER

Donald L. Fowler, age 60, of Wayland, MO, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL following a five and a half year battle with cancer.

He was born November 7, 1945 in Keokuk, IA, a son of John Roscoe and Dorothy Maxine Boone Fowler.

He was united in marriage to Linda Stookesberry on December 30, 1994, at Kahoka.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Wayland, MO; a son, Cory Fowler and his wife, Lisa, of Kahoka, MO; three daughters, Trudy Stephenson and her husband, Curtis, of Antioch, MO, Denise Dixon and her husband, Ray, of Kahoka, MO, and Amanda Slater and her husband, Evan, of Monet, MO; two step-sons, Joel Davis and Chris Davis, both of Oskaloosa, IA; a step-daughter, Linette Davis of Fort Madison, IA; a brother, John Fowler, of Gregory Landing, MO; a sister, Dorothy Ann Cowen, of Keokuk, IA; a sister-in-law, Beverly Jacobs of Sigourney, IA; an aunt, Della Radcliff of Keokuk, IA; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ernest Edward Fowler; and a grand-

daughter.

Don never graduated from high school, but he worked hard and learned from his life experiences and his own common sense. Later, he served in the Army during the Vietnam war in Germany.

He had been employed by Roquette in Keokuk since 1979 and also ran Fowler's Hauling and Backhoe. Don was a jack of all trades and had many hobbies and interest. He loved restoring classic cars and together with friends was in the process of forming the Three Rivers Car Club. He also loved being around people and spending time visiting, whether it was with a close friend, neighbor, or an acquaintance. He always helped someone when he knew there was a need, even when he wasn't feeling well himself, and was known for always keeping his word. Honesty and trustworthiness were very important parts of his character. He was also supportive and had encouraged Linda in her business, "Linda's Glass and Engraving." His family was his greatest joy and he loved spending time with them.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka. Inurnment with military rites will follow in Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville, MO.

Friends may register at Wilson Funeral Home with family receiving friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
