DONALD E. MABRY

Donald E. Mabry, age 83, formerly of Kahoka, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at his niece’s home in Donnellson.

He was born June 22, 1930 in Plymouth, IL, the son of Early and Ethel A. Harrison Mabry.

Survivors include nieces and nephews: Bobbie (Mrs.Paul) Burgund of Donnellson, IA; Brenda ((Mrs.Randy) Crum of Panama City, FL; and Keith (Katrina) Scharpman of Fort Madison, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Ruth Dodd, Opal Page, and Norma Scharpman.

Donald was one of the five original employees of the Sheltered Workshop in Kahoka when it was organized with Roland Heinze as director. He was a faithful employee and cared about those he worked with. He was also a familiar figure around Kahoka riding on his bicycle and wearing his bib overalls.

There will be no services or visitation, however, interment will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Wilson Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Mabry.

Memorials are suggested to the Keokuk Humane Society.
