DOROTHY E. BLENDER
Dorothy E. (Corzatt) Blender, 88, was born to Spencer and Mary (Haines) Corzatt on February 28, 1931, on the family farm near Raritan, Illinois.
Siblings to welcome her were Keith, Kenneth, Raymond, Marilyn (Moburg) Peterson. Later she helped welcome James.
She married Richard Blender in April of 1949, and to this marriage three daughters were born and survive: Elaine (Mike) Hull, Marilyn (late Richard) Day, and Karen (Ted Schulz) Skinner. She had four grandchildren - she loved dearly - Ken and Jim Day, Jera (Hull) Deal, and Jona (Hull) Cox and eleven great grandchildren.
Most of her life Dorothy spent as a mother/homemaker while tending a large garden. She sewed for many, created beautiful hand crafts, and loved music.
In 1998 she moved to Monmouth and called this home until her stay at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, Missouri. Dorothy passed away quietly on August 12, 2019.
Following her wishes for cremation, private graveside services for Dorothy were held and her ashes interred in the Raritan Cemetery in Raritan, IL.
Memorials in lieu of flowers were suggested to the nursing department at the Clark Co. Nursing Home.
The family was assisted by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
