Dorothy Irene Kirchner (Sharg) passed away on September 9, 2021 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Daughter of Fred Kirchner and Leotia Bell (Robertson) Kirchner, s he was born in the family home on March 16, 1931 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Irene was an Employee of Sylvania Electronics in Burlington, IA for a number of years, later moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she was employed by the Chicago Northwestern RR for 30 years and 5 months.

She worked as a clerk, cashier and later as a secretary to the trainmaster, retiring in 1995.

Irene liked to watch TV and enjoyed dining out with Railroad friends. She liked to bake cookies for her friends at Christmas and attending the Mule Festival in Kahoka, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Fredrick  (Santa Clause) Kirchner.

She loved all of her Pekinese: Pixie, Buffy, Tai-Wind, Fluffy, Lucky, Smokey Joe, Bandit and Bullitt.

Funeral Services for Irene were held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home. There was a one hour visitation prior to services.

Interment followed at the Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials were made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
