ERNEST DEAN PHILLIPS

Ernest Dean Phillips, age 77, of Revere, MO, died on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at the Lewis Co. Nursing Home in Canton, MO.

He was born July 11, 1927 at Luray, MO, a son of Ernest and Maybelle Smith Phillips.

He married Betty McDaniel Hodges October 10, 1976 at Peaksville, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Revere, MO; two sons, Eddie L. Hodges and his wife, Mary, of Kirksvile, MO, and Bobby James Hodges of LaGrange, MO and his girlfriend, Jennifer Foster, of LaGrange, MO; one daughter, Betsy Fox and her husband, Ronnie, of Canton, MO; ten grandchildren: Misty Walker and her friend, Patrick Schumacher of Canton, MO, Michelle Christy and her friend, Archie Trent, of Canton, MO, Ronnie Fox, II and his wife, Teresa, of Canton, MO, Scott Fox of Canton, MO, Owen Fox and his friend, Sue Henson, of Canton, MO, Georgette Achimbi of Kirksville, MO, Fobang "Simon" Achimbi of Houston, TX, Percy Achimbi of Africa, Kelbin Hodges of Kirksville, MO and Dillon Hodges of Quincy, IL; seven great grandchildren: Trey and Brittany Christy, Heather and Ronnie Fox, III, Cruze Walker, and Scarlett and Jasmine Fox; a brother, Larry Phillips of Luray, MO; as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Albert Fox.

Dean had farmed for Lambert Seyb for 35 years before retiring. He also enjoyed being outside on his farm, working in the wood, doing carpentry, fishing and hunting, and looking for mushrooms.

He was a member of Peaksville Christian Church and also attended Full Gospel Church at Luray faithfully. His family and his church were the most important things in his life.

Funeral services are Monday, April 11, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial in Kahoka Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastors Shawn McAfee, Herb Doty, and George LeMaster.

Friends can call after noon on Sunday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
