Esther Weaver

January 25, 1929 — March 3, 2025

Revere

Esther Marie Weaver, 96, of Rural Revere, Missouri, passed away at 12:07pm, on Monday, March 3, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 25, 1929, in Fort Madison, IA., to Albert A. and Blanche (Humphrey) Kutcher. Esther was united in marriage to Harley L. Weaver on December 8, 1946, at the Methodist Church in Farmington, IA., and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1997.

Esther worked in her early life at the Sheaffer Pen Co in Fort Madison, IA., until she became a full-time farmers wife. She was content raising her children and learning the transition from town to country life. She loved gardening and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed playing bridge, was an avid sports fan and earned her sideline whistle at all the kids and grandkids games. She worked hard providing for her family and most importantly taught us the love of Jesus by faithfully taking us to Church and Sunday School.

Esther was a member of the Amazing Grace Bible Church in Kahoka, but a lot of her years were also spent at the Anson Community Church where she was active in the Anson Ladies Aid and loved helping in Sunday School, VBS and wherever she was needed. Esther more than anything, loved spending time with her family, loved her church, and was the example of a faithful loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Esther is survived by her daughters: Debbie (Chuck) Slifer of Sterling, IL., Barbara (Paul) O’Day of Kahoka, MO., Janet Millen of Lexington, KY., a daughter-in-law: Caryn Weaver of Revere, MO., 10 grandchildren: Kristin (Adam) Pena, Michael (Anna) O’Day, Amy (Robin) O’Day, Clayton Millen, Jenny (Jake) Pogrotsky, Andrew Millen, Greg Weaver, John (Cari) Weaver, Jeff (Britni) Weaver and Lisa (T.J.) Duncan, 20 precious great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her in-laws J.C. and Amelia Weaver, a son Steve Weaver, a son-in-law David Millen, a sister and her husband Dorothy (Keith) Muntz, brother and sister in-laws: Mary (Bill) Kerr, Garnet (Ed) Rider, and Clark (Lola) Weaver
