EUGENE C. DENHAM

Eugene C. Denham, age 69, of Kahoka, MO, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 in Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, IA.

He was born May 31, 1936 at Kahoka, a son of Cecil and Alma Gram Denham.

On March 20, 1954, he was united in marriage to Marlene Boeckman and they were the proud parents of Melia and Mark. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1963. On August 11, 1963, he married Ruth A. Pierce and to this marriage she also brought her son, Randy. To this union Lisa and David were born and together they raised their combined family as one.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Kahoka, MO; three sons, Randy and LaRae of Des Moines, IA, Mark and Norma of Rowlett, TX, and David and Kim of Kahoka, MO; two daughters, Melia Denham of Oskaloosa, IA and Lisa and Maurice Owen of Owensboro, KY;

two sisters, Margaret Ranck and Eunice Buford and her husband, Harlan, all of Kahoka, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Henry Wendling, Betty Denham, and Janie and Mike Dunning all of Kahoka, MO, and Shirley and Jim Dennison of Ottumwa, IA; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene; two brothers, William in infancy and Gerald L. Denham; and, two sisters, Laverne Gram and Lois Wendling.

Gene graduated from Kahoka High School with the class of 1954 and lived and farmed in Clark County all of his life. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and former member and officer of the Clark Co. Moose Lodge. He was life-long Dodger fan, enjoyed horse races, and loved his children and grandchildren. Family and farming were everything to him.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating. Burial will follow in Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends can call after noon Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul United Church of Christ.
