Edgar Eugene Lay

Edgar Eugene Lay, 78, of Kahoka, Missouri, passed away at 12:25 am, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Eugene was born on June 22, 1945, in Maywood, Mo., to Virgil T. and Mildred L. (Felker) Lay. Eugene was a 1964 graduate from Warren High School in Monmouth, IL. He worked several jobs over the years as he liked to stay busy.  Eugene liked nature, especially watching the squirrels and birds.  When he was home Eugene liked reading and playing his tabletop organ.  He looked forward to family gatherings and reunions.

Edgar Eugene Lay is survived by his 2 sisters: Hazel (Byron) Perry of Decatur, IL., Louise (Larry) Sladek of Sugar Grove, IL., 1 nephew: Scott Snitchler of Lisle, IL., and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service for Edgar Eugene Lay will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm, at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO., with burial at the Providence Cemetery, Williamstown, MO. Pastor Rick Addison will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2024, with family present from 11:00 am until the time of services on Friday, April 19, 2024.
