EVELYN P. WHITE

Evelyn Pearl White, age 99, of rural Farmington, IA, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Evelyn was born October 16, 1917 in Van Buren, Co. near Farmington, a daughter of Benjamin and Lourena Evans Delker.

She was united in marriage to Carroll E. White on January 3, 1951 in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1999.

Survivors include her children, Lorene (Irwin "Gene") Morris of rural Bonaparte, IA and Warren White of rural Farmington, IA; a brother, Melvin (Rose) Delker of Apache Junction, AZ; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son in infancy, Loren White; and a brother, Stanley Delker.

Evelyn graduated from Farmington High School in 1935. For the next fifteen years she taught in rural Van Buren County schools. Following her marriage, Evelyn stayed home assisting her husband on the farm and raising their children.

She loved to garden, sew, do word search puzzles, and watch Jeopardy and other game

shows.

A private graveside service was held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Christy Cemetery.

Friends called at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka on Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Christy Cemetery.
