Everett Hill

Everett Lynn Hill, 85, of Wayland, passed away at 1:17pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Donnellson Healthcare Centre in Donnellson, Iowa.

He was born on February 14, 1935 in Peaksville, the son of the late Everett Carl and Twila Mae (Best) Hill. Everett was a laborer and worked in construction under Union Local 525 for several years. He married Sue Borghardt on June 5, 1965, and together they raised their family until Sue preceded him in death on February 12, 2003.

Everett loved dirt track racing, doing tree work and just staying busy in general.  He had enjoyed playing the card game, Euchre, and provided rides to many of his Amish friends, taking them wherever they needed to go.

He is survived by one son, Harley Hill of Wayland, MO; and his girlfriend of many years, Shirley Vice of Kahoka ; grandchildren; Hannah Nicole Hill and Colby Hill and step grandchildren Haley Jones of Arbela, MO , and Brittany Jones of Warsaw, IL, great grandchild, Haleigh Hill, brother Carl Lee Hill of Wayland, MO, and sister Betty Cady of Davenport, IA.

In addition to his parents and his wife Sue, Everett was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Ann Hill, two brothers, David Hill, and Harvey Eugene Hill: and sister-in-law, Mary Hill.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Everett were conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka. Pastor Franz Kinkhorst officiated the service. A visitation was held from 5 until 7 pm on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment followed at Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville. Memorial contributions in memory of Everett were suggested to the family.  Those attending services were encouraged to practice social distancing and follow coronavirus safety guidelines.
