FLOYD DELMER LEACH

Floyd Delmer Leach, age 77, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on March 7, 2004 at Family Hospice Care Center in Mesa, AZ.

He was born February 24, 1927 in Downing, MO, a son of Floyd H. and Flossie May Mattocks Leach.

On December 7, 1946, he was united in marriage to Gerry Barrows in Kirksville, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Gerry, of Mesa, AZ; son, Newton Leach and his wife, Mary,of Evans, GA; daughter, Kim Roybal and her companion, Jerry Jones, of Yakima, WA; grand-children, Sarah Scott and her husband, Steven, and Micah and Rachel Leach, all of Evans, GA, and Justin and Joel Roybal of Yakima, WA; one great-granddaughter, Anna Harper Scott of Evans, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Zinnert and Guy and Beverly Barrows of Kahoka, MO, Lester and Nadine Barrows and C. Kay Barrows, all of Jefferson City, MO, Norman and Anita Barrows of Halls Summit, MO, Ray and Sandy Barrows of Harlingen, TX, and Ina and Neil Wray of Centerview, MO; close friend of the family, Patsy Hoyt of Fort Madison, IA and her three daughters: Dawn Carper of Peoria, AZ, Georgina Pilkington and daughter, Colby, of Fort Madison, IA, and Kelly LeMatty and her husband, Tim and their children, Ariel, T.J. and Ty of Montrose, IA; nephews and nieces on his side of the family: Jeff Leach and his wife, Karen, of Social Circle, GA, Bud Leach and his wife, June, of St. Louis, MO, Delma Smith and her husband, Chris of Kahoka, MO, Denise Stone and her husband, Jeryl, of Memphis, MO, and Donn Treece and his wife, Korena, of Thornton, CO; as well as many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Lewin Dee Leach; a brother,

Bill Leach and his wife, Maxine; two sisters, Betty Lou Leach and Donna Treece and her husband, Don.

Delmer graduated from Kahoka High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46.He was a Past Master of Hiram Lodge # 362, A.F. & A.M., Kahoka, and received his 50 year pin on February 6, 2003. He was also a member of Kahoka Chapter # 40, O.E.S.

Delmer was a retired electrician. The last 14 years prior to retiring, he had traveled to different nuclear plant sites while under construction as part of a start up crew. A member of Brown Road Baptist Church in Mesa, he served as Deacon for the past 11 years. He desired to bear witness to the fact that throughout his life, in which were the usual joys and sorrows, he was sustained by his faith in God.

Memorial services are Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at 2 p.m.at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Payne officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to Hospice Family Care, 1550 S. Alma School Road - Suite 102, Mesa, AZ 85210.
