FRED LOUIS McALLISTER

Fred Louis McAllister, age 91, of Fairfield Bay, AR, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 in his home.

He was born August 9, 1913 in Howell County, MO, the son of Edward M. and Lila Winton McAllister.

In 1934 he married Cleo B. Wharton. In 1967 he married Donna Seymour.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Fairfield Bay, AR; his children: Fred and Carolyn McAllister of Alexander, AR; Rowena and Wayne Axton and Ann and Dennis Hall of Oak Grove, MO; Julia and Patrick McCabe of Memphis, TN; Gerald Louis McAllister of West Plains, MO; James McAllister of Fairfield Bay, AR; Sue Johnson of Kahoka, MO; and Douglas and Pam McAllister of Columbia, MO; a stepson, David and Karen Fuller of Linton, IN; 28 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and, 9 step great grandchildren. Also, a brother, Roy McAllister of Hot Springs, AR; and a sister, Ethel Barnett of Tipton, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

Fred served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, held public office in Henry County, MO, and then entered the banking business. In September of 1985, after retiring as President of the Kahoka State Bank, he and Donna moved to Fairfield Bay. There he was active in the Methodist Church, Lions Club, Outreach-in-the-Hills, a member of the Sam Williams Masonic Lodge at Edgemont and a volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed the life in Fairfield Bay, especially golfing. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 10, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kahoka Christian Church with Rev. Dick Clifford officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kahoka Christian Church.

There will be no visitation.

Local arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.
