Gary "Odie" ODay

Gary was born on May 27, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa to Henry and Vanetta (Dust) O`Day.  Gary was united in marriage to Evelyn (Young) in 1971 and to this union 5 daughters were born, they later divorced.

Gary graduated from Clark County High School in 1966.  He worked on the farm after high school before being drafted into the Marines.  He entered the service in January of 1968 and was Honorably Discharged in May 1970.  Gary logged and drove a truck for many years, he enjoyed being outside and hunting.  He always raised a good garden and took pride in it.  His real passion was riding and training horses.  He was a real cowboy at heart.

Gary is survived by his mother Vanetta Dalton of Kahoka, 5 daughters; Patricia (Danny) Trone, Tammi (Roger) Hurt, Jeanne Springer, Rita Brunk and Lisa O`Day. 13 grandchildren; Trever (Ashley) Hurt, Clinton Davis, Rebecca Davis, Miranda (Jakobie) Justice, Alex O`Day, Tiffani O`Day, Courtney Springer, Vanessa Springer, Jordan Brunk, Dreston Brunk, Nevaeh Stewart, Xaria O`Day, and Xarienne O`Day, 7 Great grandchildren; 1 sister; Sandra (Wayne) Kirchner of Kahoka, MO, and other relatives and friends.
