GENE DELANO LAYMON

Gene Delano Laymon, age 81, formerly of Revere, MO, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Gene was born April 12, 1933 in Morrow, OH, one of eleven children born to Ralph and Wreatha Snider Laymon.

He was married to Beulah Mullikin and they were the parents of three children. They later divorced.

Survivors include one son, Wes Laymon (Mary Dobson) of Revere, MO; daughter, Rhonda (Mrs. John) Kleinert of Revere, MO; seven grandchildren: Jessica Frueh of Birmingham, AL, Brianna Laymon of Dubuque, IA, Deanna Laymon of Center Point, IA, Shonda Ludwick of St. Francisville, MO, John D. Kleinert (Betti Victory) of Revere, MO, Mary Thaut of Knob Noster, MO, and Rodney G. Laymon, Jr. of Knob Noster, MO; six great-grandchildren: Madison Frueh of Birmingham, AL, Dalton (Olvia) Ludwick of Columbia, MO, Alex Brammer of Wayland, MO, Kortney Kleinert of Alexandria, MO, and Kinley and Reese Thaut, both of Knob Noster, MO; three brothers, Frank (Dorothy) Laymon of Painesville, OH, Ralph "Bud" (Goldie) Laymon of Revere, MO, and Richard (Dixie) Laymon of Warrenton, MO; sisters-in-law: Martha (Gary) Whiteaker of Wayland, MO and Carol (Marshal) Rose of Donnellson, IA; dear friend and caretaker, Heather Brown Wilson; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney Laymon; seven siblings; and special friend, Sharon Farmer.

Gene's family moved to Missouri when he was a child to help care for the farm of a sick uncle. He farmed all of his adult life on the farm near Revere until his health forced him to retire. He loved being on the farm and enjoyed deer hunting. He loved playing euchre and having family get togethers. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with words of comfort by Mr. Gary Whiteaker.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
