She moved to Keosauqua following her husband's death in 1992 to be closer to her daughters. She had been an employee of the Memphis Kiseling Nursing Home until it closed and was a former employee of the Catfish Place at Arbela.
Genevieve loved her step grandchildren and their families and looked forward to their visits. Her friends were very special to her and she was always glad when she could offer a helping hand. The time they spent playing cards and visiting together meant a lot to her. She loved summer months when she could garden and can and grow a variety of flowers. Summers also brought many visits from children, many who called her "Aunt Jenny" and "Grandma".
She was blessed to be able to stay in her own home until this past March when she entered the
nursing home in Keosauqua.
