GILBERT LEE KELLEY

Gilbert Lee Kelley, age 82, of Keokuk, IA, formerly of Clark County, MO, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born January 7, 1924 at Keokuk, IA a son of Edward Wesley and Nancy Slate Kelley.

He married Treva Gentry on January 8, 1949 at Decatur, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Treva, of Keokuk, IA; one son, Raymond Wesley Lee Kelley of Keokuk, IA; a daughter, Deborah Kelley of Keokuk, IA; four grandchildren: Wesley Rader, Tarris Blankenship, Tyran Jarrell and his wife, Holly, and Marc Jarrell, all of Keokuk, IA; three great-grandchildren, Lexie Jarrell, Treyvin Jarrell and Amya Blankenship, also of Keokuk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Hubert and Albert Kelley; and a sister, Bernice Lindner.

Gilbert was a self-employed construction worker until retiring in the early 1990's. He and Treva had lived in rural Clark County near St. Patrick, until moving to Keokuk this past April due to failing health.

At his request, Gilbert was accorded cremation rites. There will be no services.
