Glen Archer, 60, of Ft. Madison, Iowa, formerly of Kahoka, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Glen LaVerne Archer Jr. was born July 30, 1964, in Chicago, IL., to Glen LaVerne Archer Sr. and Eleda Yvonne (Fetters) Archer Hepker.
Glen graduated from Clark County High School in 1982. After graduating from high school, he enlisted into the United States Air Force on September 24, 1982. He served our Country for 10 years as an Information Management Tech. Glen at the time of his death was employed at Siemens as a Team-lead. He appreciated the friendships he made with other employees. Glen was a talented guitar player, song writer and producer. He loved country music and would go to Nashville to hear Montgomery Gentry every chance he got. He was a huge fan of Kansas City Chiefs and an Avid season ticket holder and tailgater for the Iowa Hawkeye’s. Glen was a simple man, he enjoyed life, he loved his grandchildren and was so devoted to them and a dedicated father to his special needs son Gavin.
Glen is survived by a son Gavin Archer of Fort Madison, IA., a daughter Amy (Chad) Archer Halbert of Williamstown, MO., 3 sisters: Tammy (Terry) Archer Blackburn of Burlington, IA., Sharon (Greg) Cain of Newton, IA., Crystal (Kevin) Carlberg of Bloomfield, IA., a brother Tony Clay of Iowa City, IA, 3 grandchildren: Zoey Halbert, Zaiden Halbert, Zarian Halbert and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Sandra Archer.
Visitation with the family present will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka.Military Rites for Glen Archer will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO. Inurnment at a later date.
Memorial contributions in memory of Glen are suggested to the family, checks payable to Amy Archer, and may be left at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, 975 East Main Street, Kahoka, MO., 63445.
