HARRY JUNIOR MILLER
Harry Junior Miller, age 82, of Memphis, MO, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
He was born June 22, 1924 at Keokuk, IA, one of thirteen children born to Harry W. and Myrtle Eaton Miller. He and Rose Marie Ekle were married 61 years ago on September 20, 1945 at Keokuk, IA. Together they raised their six children, worked their farm, and enjoyed their grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Miller of Memphis, MO; four sons, Earl (Sherry) Miller of Edina, MO, Glen (Suzy) Miller of Memphis, MO, Wally (Crystal) Miller of Burlington, IA, and Carl (Tina) Miller of Kirksville, MO; two daughters, Jean (Tom) Myers of Memphis, MO, and Marie "Mimi" (Ron) Alexander also of Memphis, MO; a brother, Jerry (Anna) Miller of Kahoka, MO; a sister, Dalene (Harve) Bergman of Kahoka, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Walter and Dorothy Ekle of Hamilton, IL, Ruth Ekle of Farmington, IA, Janie Ihrig of Camp Point, IL, and Robert and Marilyn Ekle of Farmington, IA; 35 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren and four on the way; many nieces and nephews including Grace and Wayne Hodges of Kahoka, MO and Bob and Evelyn Nye of Keokuk, IA, who were very special to him; as well as cousins and other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; seven sisters; and a grandson.
Junior attended the Keystone school south of Wayland and received a wealth of knowledge from his surroundings and experiences. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis.
Junior was born with farming in his blood and farmed all of his life in several northeast Missouri counties. He loved working and spending time outdoors and had enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger. He also liked to tell stories. He cherished his wife, children and grandchildren and spending time with them. He was also blessed to have a close relationship with his siblings and their families.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with his cousin, Harry Miller, officiating. Burial will follow in the Frazee Cemetery south of Wayland.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
