HARRY A. SCHREIBER
Harry A. Schreiber, age 78, of rural Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born July 15, 1926 at Ordway, CO, a son of John A. and Ola Pearl Stevenson Schreiber.
He and Hazel O. Horter were married March 2, 1947 at Kahoka.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Kahoka, MO; one son, Dale Schreiber of Kahoka, MO; three daughters, Betty Young and her husband, Joe, of Kahoka, MO, Donna Thurston and her husband, Donald, of Ingalls, KS, and Carrol Leisenring and her husband, James, of Kahoka, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Twila Horter of Kahoka, MO, Edith Templeton of Keokuk, IA, Helen and Roy Pearson of Kahoka, MO, Ruby and Jim Stamper of Des Moines, IA and John Irvin of Farmington, IA; eight grandchildren: Terry Young and Tracy Hamner, both of Kahoka, MO, Chris Young of Wayland, MO, Jody and Danny Scharfenberg of Kahoka, MO, Alan and Melanie Thurston of Garden City, KS, Teresa Thurston and Paul Thurston, both of Ingalls, KS; and Danell Leisenring and her fiancé, Dan Vineyard, both of Kahoka, MO; 9 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and a grandson, Michael Thurston.
Harry graduated from Revere High School. He was a retired 20 year employee of the former Baker and Kaiser Quarries. Harry enjoyed puttering around his home and fixing things that were broken. He was also an avid reader. He loved having his family and grandchildren around.
Graveside services are Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Chambersburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Clark Co. Local Cancer Fund.
