Helen Mae Morrison
Helen M. Morrison, age 84, of Kahoka, MO, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.
She was born born June 12, 1923 at Canton, MO, the adopted daughter of Charles and Ila Speer Felker.
She married Raymond Cecil Morrison on February 1, 1942, at Kahoka. He preceded her in death on April15, 1996.
Survivors include five sons: Charles Morrison and his wife, Barbara, of Dixon, IL,Larry Morrison and his wife, Sharon, of Peaksville, MO, Bob Morrison and his wife, Carol, Mike Morrison and his wife, Diane, and Ronnie Morrison, all of Kahoka, MO; four daughters: Linda Riley and her husband, Dan, of Jadwin, MO, Sandy Darnell and her husband, Roger, of Stratford, MO, Deborah Brammer and her husband, Mark, of Wayland, MO, and Patricia LaMaster of Kahoka, MO; as well as 28 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and, other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her adopted parents; her husband; and two grandchildren.
Helen graduated from Canton High School. Besides being a busy housewife and mother of nine children, Helen also worked various jobs, including 19 years in the kitchen at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka. During that time, she received additional dietary training and always kept up with nutrition education. She eventually made her home at the nursing home as her health began to fail and looked forward to the activities there, particularly bingo. She was an excellent cook and made hot rolls and cinnamon rolls that would melt in your mouth. The most important thing to her was her family.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with words of comfort by Mr. John Spray. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery.
