HILLIS F. LIPPER

Hillis F. Lipper, age 78, of Kahoka, MO, died Friday, May 25, 2007, in Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, IA.

He was born December 13, 1928, at Wyaconda, MO, a son of Floyd E. and Lelia Bogener Lipper.

He and Marilee Snider were married November 11, 1951, at Luray, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Marilee, of Kahoka, MO; a son, Michael Lipper and his wife, Meg, of Macon, GA; four daughters: twin daughters, Patricia Self and her husband, Jack, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Pamela Lipper of Albuquerque, NM, and Susan Lipper and Nancy Pierron, both of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren: grandsons, Paul and Michael

Pierron and Klein Lipper and granddaughters Elizabeth Pierron and Addison Lipper; one brother, Ansel Lipper and his wife, Rovene, of Kahoka, MO; a brother-in-law, James Snider and his wife, Barb, of Spokane, WA; an uncle, Howard Bogener of Joplin, MO; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Estal, Leland and Carl Lipper.

Hillis was a graduate of Kahoka High School and worked in various factories in the area through the years. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Kahoka and enjoyed his Sunday school class and helping with church missions. He loved to do woodworking and make items for friends and family. This past winter he had put those skills to use by volunteering at the local Habitat for Humanity home. He was a member of the Fox Valley Two-Cylinder Club. He loved his farm and spending time there tinkering. His determination kept him going there daily even when he didn't feel like it. His family was very important to him and he loved making homemade ice cream for them.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Burial will follow in New Woodville Cemetery, rural Wyaconda.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 9 a.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church of Kahoka.
