J. W. PERRY

James William Perry, age 60, of Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly Monday, September 26, 2005 in the emergency room of Keokuk Area Hospital.

He was born April 20, 1945 near Luray in Clark County, MO, a son of Jason L. and Emma Jo Wilson Perry.

Survivors include his companion of many years, Leta Brown, of Kahoka, MO; two sons, Jason Perry of Quincy, IL and Jimmy Bill Perry of Milton, IA; one daughter, Elizabeth Perry of Kahoka, MO; a sister, Jolene Blanford of Keokuk, IA; four grandchildren: Carlie, Stormy, Josh and Emily Perry; Leta's children: Brenda (Mrs. Jerry) Cochenour of Arbela, MO, Roy Brown and his wife, Denise, of Luray MO, Debbie Rudd of Montrose, IA, Cathy Brown and Randy Thomas of Versailles, IL, Beverly Riekeberg and Everett Frady of Kirksville, MO, Janet (Mrs. Mark) Mattingly of Arbela, MO, and Tami D. (Mrs. Rick) Townsend of Montrose, IA and their children and grandchildren who were all like family to him; as well as cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard Perry; brother-in-law, Norm Blanford; and a niece, Cassondra Heaton.

J. W. spent the past seventeen years as a truck driver, and was employed currently by Newberry Trucking in Keokuk, IA. He was also a familiar figure around town in his convertible, golf cart, and "Cue Ball" truck. J. W. loved being around people. He was a charter member of Clark Co. Moose Lodge # 1432, a social member of Ayer-Boatman Post # 4342, V. F. W., and a member of the Missouri Longriders. He had many hobbies, but particularly loved old cars and taking care of his convertible. He was also an avid Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan.

Funeral services are Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Ernest Deatrick and Pastor Preston Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Family Cemetery in rural Clark County, Missouri. Friends can call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with a Moose Service being conducted at 6 p.m. followed by family receiving friends until 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
