James Edward Buford

James Edward Buford, 87, of Kahoka, passed away at 7:20 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.

He was born on March 16, 1935, the son of the late Wallace Bumpus & Vera Belle (Tull) Buford. He married the late Janice Lee Hunziker in June of 1957 and to this union were born children; Penny (Bob) LeMaster of Kahoka and a daughter who preceded him in death in infancy; Debra Buford. Jim later married Carol Webber in 1980.

Jim worked in the farming industry doing various jobs including working for MFA for several years. He was an avid deer and quail hunter, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and he liked to drive around town in his golf cart visiting friends.

In addition to his daughter, Penny, Jim is survived by three grandchildren; Clint Walker of Quincy, Illinois, Calina Walker of Atlanta, Georgia and Landon (Jayna) LeMaster of Kahoka, two great grandchildren; Drake Sturm of Houston, Texas and Clara LeMaster of Kahoka. Jim is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Jim are suggested to the family.
