JAMES LOIS HUDNUT
James Lois Hudnut, age 92, of Williamstown, MO, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the Lewis Co. Nursing Home in Canton, MO.
He was born October 19, 1914, at Wyaconda, MO, a son of More and Stella Ann Levengood Hudnut. He was the last living of ten children.
On June 17, 1959, he was united in marriage to Thelma Oma Lee Newberry at Central Baptist Church in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2005.
Survivors include four sisters-in-law: Donna Hudnut of Canton, Mary Ellen Todd of Canton, Etta Hudnut of Palmyra and Gynell Hudnut of Lewistown; several step-sisters and a step-brother; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; seven brothers; two sisters; and a foster
brother.
Lois graduated from Williamstown High School and farmed all of his life near Williamstown. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy Sea Bees.
He and Thelma were faithful members of Liberty Baptist Church where he was adeacon, a former Sunday school teacher, and Sunday school superin-tendent. He and Thelma were devoted to their church and to each other and dearly loved their nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, rural Williamstown, MO, with full Military Rites and burial following in the Liberty Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Brother Dwight Snead and Rev. Ernest Deatrick.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Liberty Church.
