Janice Crone

Janice L. Crone, age 74, of rural Alexandria, MO, died Friday, July 19, 2013, in the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka following a courageous battle with cancer.

Janice was born November 17, 1938 in Kahoka, MO, a daughter of Floyd F. and Ruth L. Bash Hunziker.

She and Baron Terry Crone were married at the Kahoka Methodist parsonage.

Survivors include her husband, Terry, of rural Alexandria, MO; one daughter, Penny (Mrs. Bob) LeMaster of Kahoka, MO; a step-son, Terence (Sheila) Crone of Leavenworth, KS; step-daughter, Lorna Jester of Wichita, KS; two grandchildren, Clint Walker (Rachel Little) and Calina (Mrs. Kevin) Vollbracht, all of Quincy, IL; four step-grandchildren: Tyler (Christina) Ramsey of Kahoka, MO; Samantha Crone (Jeffrey Campsey) of Leavenworth, KS, Danielle Crone of Leavenworth, KS and Landon (Jayna) LeMaster of Kahoka, MO; one great-grandchild, Drake Sturm of Quincy, IL; three step great-grandchildren: Colton Ramsey, of Kahoka, MO and Jackson Peterson and Noah Campsey, both of Leavenworth, KS; two sisters, Mertice Meinhardt of Kahoka, MO and Marjorie (Mrs. George) Harris of Quincy, IL; a sister-in-law, Marydot Hunziker of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Hunziker; and brother-in-law, Wayne Meinhardt.

Janice graduated from Kahoka High School and attended Kirksville State Teacher's College. She retired from the Production Credit Association and later worked for WalMart.
She was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church. She loved to read, work jigsaw puzzles, sail with Terry on their boat and go on walks. She also enjoyed playing games on the computer.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.


Memorials were suggested to the Wayland United Methodist Church or the Kahoka Cemetery.
