She was united in marriage to Charles Edward "Chuck" Braxton on December 27, 1992 in Herndon, VA.

She is survived by her husband, "Chuck"; a step-son, Beau Braxton and his wife, Krista of Sterling, VA; sister-in-law, Lisa Spicer (Tom Holmes) of Luray, MO; brother-in-law, Bill Elrod of Camerillo, CA; three nieces: Brandi (Mrs. Jerry) Wilson of Kahoka, MO, Olyvea Elrod of Nashville, TN and their families and Cynde Beitner of AZ; Godchildren: Whitney and Laef Morris; several cousins including Dyann Durbin of Springfield, MO; dear friend, Ida Ross of Kahoka, MO; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Jeri graduated from Revere High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northeast Missouri State University at Kirksville and her Master's at Central State University in Oklahoma.

Jeri's true passion was music. During college she was a member of the Northeast Missouri Singers (NEMOS). While in Oklahoma, she was a member of the Canterbury Choral Society and after returning to Missouri, was a member of the Evening On Broadway group at Memphis, MO, a member of the Mark Twain Chorale International, and of the St. Paul United Church of Christ Chancel Choir. She was a featured soloist in all of these groups. Following graduation from Kirksville, Jeri taught special education in the Clark Co. R-1 School District and worked with her mother at the Clark Co. Abstract Co. She moved to Oklahoma to earn her Master's Degree and during that time taught school and was an abstractor for a period of time before becoming General Contractor and Manager of a construction firm. She also was a Deputy Sheriff for Canadian County, Oklahoma. Jeri left Oklahoma to marry Chuck in 1992 and they returned to Missouri in 1993. Until her retirement, she was owner of Clark Co. Abstract Co. She and Chuck loved to travel together and with the Mark Twain Chorale Group. They also enjoyed riding their "side by side" as members of the "Missouri Mudders".

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, a member of Kahoka Chapter # 40, O.E.S. and served on the Board of Directors of both the Industrial Opportunites and Kahoka State Bank. When it came to the end of the day, Jeri was most content at her home in Revere. It was a place of sanctuary for her and Chuck where she loved to spend time enjoying birds, flowers, and gardening.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka with Pastor Barb Koenig officiating. Burial was in the Revere Cemetery.
